Boys will be boys

So, between the normal juggle of work, rv stuff (heat not fixed), pets and family visiting (plus some local politicking)…YIKES!! It has been somewhat non-stop.

But, FUN!!

This morning…

… amongst the local herd, two bucks had words.

But, it was a bit half-hearted.

It appeared they were just going through the motions.

The does ignored the entire thing.

Srsly – it was funny!

Auggie watched.

So did Bear.

Boys will be boys!

It’s amazing to see so many deer just around you. Are they wild deer or is it a deer farm?

Margaret, Technically, they are wild deer, but some people in the neighborhood feed them so the number of them around is pretty astounding. There is a large group of wild turkeys also.

The deer here are mule deer versus the white tail that are around my house. The mule deer are larger and have the big “mule” ears.

Did the heater get fixed yesterday? Didn’t notice any snow on the ground. I guess extra blankets and a dog and cat should keep you warm.

    Charles Curran,

The heat is NOT fixed. It is a long story – not sure I’ll tell the entire thing, but suffice to say there were things I should have done before approaching the shop, but additionally the shop made no effort to expedite despite, you know, HEAT!! – in November, in CO and I’m living/travelling aboard. I cancelled the appointment. No regrets as I quickly got the info they should have/could have as easily as me which would have made quick work of the job. I had a backup plan for heat and I WILL NOT reward poor customer service with my $$$.

My motorhome as well as most rvs have a propane furnace and ac/heat pump units. In my coach, the propane furnace is not only the most comfortable as it heats from the floor, but it also is ducted to the water bays and all under floor plumbing lines. The heat pump blows air from the ceiling which is great for a/c, but it does heat with the caveat that it does not send heat to the water bays AND it only works 34F and above. I also have a motor aided system which circulates hot water through the engine and blowers use the furnace duct system so “down the road” both the coach and the plumbing get heat. I can run this if necessary by running the engine.

I have 3 electric ceramic heaters: 2 inside and 1 in the water bay. That is the most electric heaters that the 30 amp house system can handle…BUT, I decided to buy a long power cord so I can power the heater that I’ve been using in the water bay for the plumbing – from a 20 amp outlet. Most RV parks have separate 20, 30 and 50 amp outlets. SO, if needed, I could get a 4th heater for inside, but so far the 2 are doing the job.

And, I have the potable rv antifreeze at the ready so if it gets seriously cold, I can winterize to protect the plumbing and use bottled water. It takes 10-15 minutes to winterize.

Here at my folks, it has been relatively balmy compared to other parts of the state, West and country. The arctic cold went mostly East of where I am with the coldest night here being about 22F and warming to 50-60’s during the day. I’m sitting at about 8100 feet altitude so it warms quickly after the sun comes up.

Yep, the above is the short story :) !!
