New Year’s Eve 2014

I am very much “bah, humbug” about New Year’s Eve. I think it is silly.

I might be in the minority.

Anyway.

It is still cold.

BUT – the sun is shining!

It might not be clear, but Auggie’s face is expressing dissatisfaction at the difference between how it looks and how it is.

It is cold, despite how it looks!

Oh, well.

Onward.

We did all go out now and again…VERY briefly, though.

Mid-afternoon, it was 12F and Bear did enjoy some time on Beardog Point.

Meanwhile…black-eyed peas are on the simmer for New Year’s Day.

And my New Year’s Eve entertainment…some Tony Hillerman books made into TV episodes…south western mysteries to watch.

Wishing all a safe and Happy New Year’s Eve.

People are signing petitions to get another network to pick up Longmire….hope someone does. Spending this evening like most….reading, maybe a movie/tv and a glass or two of wine/champagne…just doing my normal thing. Can’t imagine being in a crowd like in NYC…would have a claustrophobic attack for sure! Wishing you all a good new year….hugs!

    Sue,

Oh, phooey!! I had no idea that Longmire was not to be renewed!

I think that last I knew, you had not read the Longmire books, but what lead me “down the rabbit hole” to find and buy the Hillerman DVDs was a short story kindle offering by Craig Johnson: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IXX4J8A/ref=kinw_myk_ro_title

Above is titled “Wait for Signs”. I am not normally a short story afficiando, but loved this collection and even more, loved the foreward which was written by Lou Diamond Phillips. Seriously – the forward…so very eloquent and it alone is worth the price of the offering. I am a Lou Diamond Phillips fan and think he makes a perfect “Bear”.

I forget how, but in looking at Lou Diamond Phillips after reading that foreward, I found that he had portrayed Jim Chee in “Dark Winds”. And then digging deeper found the Hillerman PBS DVDs. I haven’t bought “Dark Winds”, but the PBS DVDs had such great reviews and a mini-series…so bought those.

Anyway, back to your point…I will be crying crocodile tears if Longmire is not continued!

    Happy New Year!
It blew in here with gale force winds and we were up half the night checking out suspicious bangs and crashes. Thus I was awake at midnight when everyone started firing their guns! I was also up at 2.30 and 4am…
It is a beautiful clear day, as it often is after wind, and the temperature is 0C.

Happy New Year, Margaret. WOW, your year came in with a whoosh, but the aftermath of clear skies sounds beautiful.
