And again with the hot

Good grief!!!

Yikes!!

The 76 inside is a bit deceiving…it is the entry temp. The rest of the house is 69-71F – quite comfy.

Zinnia and Sunflowers for this weeks cut flowers.

Some grape and heirloom tomatoes for this week’s veg.

I was up at 4:30 a.m. this Saturday morning and Bear and I headed to town at 6:45 a.m. We stopped for a walk along the river before hitting the grocery, then a breakfast drive-through, gas for the Jeep …and were at Farmer’s Market at 9:00 a.m. on the dot for the open to get this week’s veg and flowers.

Gorgeous zinnia…

Early sunflowers…

Then home by 10:00 a.m. to put all away.

By noon … again with the HOT.

What beautiful flowers and veg. Have you changed your carpet? It is about the same temperature here these days except that it is almost 90F inside the house. Yesterday evening we had a thunderstorm and that cooled everything down a bit.

Margaret, Yes…new carpet (throw rugs). I LOVED my braided rug but it was over 20 years old, threadbare in spots, very expensive to have professionally cleaned and as it was wool … a kind of nightmare to take outside (HEAVY!!) and hose off …although I did that a number of times. About 2 months ago after Bear threw up on it in the night and I didn’t know until morning…out it went. The new rugs are indoor/outdoor – inexpensive and very lightweight so easy for me to roll up and take outside for a hose off if needed. They look much better than I anticipated and I’m really happy with them. I was able to replace the sunroom rug, add a rug in the kitchen which took the place of 4 little rugs for half the price it would cost to replace the wool rug… the new cheapies are also easier to vacuum.
