Holiday Weekend

The four day weekend whizzed by and here we are at Sunday evening before “back to work” Monday morning…

Snow. My “Let it snow” did not come to fruition. That snowflake is maybe 1/4 the size of my fingernail … on my little finger. It is perfect and beautiful and tiny. The snowflake is on Bear – he stood patiently as asked while I got the camera and took some photos. There were light – VERY light – flurries off and on and I happened to notice several perfect flakes that were supported on Bear’s outer coat.

The cloud deck is low and solid: inversion. Under the deck it is staying nearly a constant 18-20F and the relative humidity is high making it feel very cold.

But inside with a fire in the woodstove and things in the oven and on the stove, it has been warm and cozy.

Sourdough English muffin.

Nooks. Crannies. I’ll go toe to toe with Thomas’ English muffins!

Another kind of cozy – mornings with Auggie.

Holiday Weekend.

Look at that snowflake! What a great photo. The English muffin makes me hungry :)

Steph, It was a really good muffin :) … the flakes were all so tiny and perfect. I wish more photos were in focus AND that I could get one with my macro adapter. Bear’s fur is perfect for holding them and they don’t melt when suspended, but although he will stay, he is prone to some movement when I’m bending over him with the camera… Still, it is fun to try as the flakes are amazing in their shapes and complexity.

That snowflake is amazing. I love it. And I agree that the muffin looks delicious. We have snow on our mountains but fog down here and it is 1C right now.

    JP, I know – I could not resist !

Margaret, Isn’t it incredible that flakes like that fall out of the sky and land intact? 1C – maybe you will get snow also. I do hope the fog clears for both of us!
