Christmas night catch up

Happy Christmas to all!

Emmett, Oscar and I had a lovely Christmas … all weekend plus THE day!

The weather has been sunny, clear and cold so we kept our wee bit of snow … beautiful on trees and bushes but no need for shoveling and the walking is good.

Nights have been clear so moon viewing is excellent also.

If you followed my Instagram story, you know I made a number of appetizer treats vs cooking a Christmas dinner … here in the U.S. we just had Thanksgiving so I didn’t feel I needed another large dinner. The snacks were good and fun and I think I will do the same for New Year’s weekend.

I have been rereading Kindle books in my library that are Christmas books … I have a large selection and have enjoyed all of my picks so far – Fun!

I am spending time every day with watercolor: practice, practice, practice … small bits of improvement but the main thing is that I am having fun!

I tried to get a Christmas family photo but some of us were uncooperative … I had both 360 cameras set up and have some footage to go through … hopefully I can get some video up this week.

Bottom line, we had a wonderful Christmas weekend … a low key short week ahead and then we repeat for New Years’.

Cheers!

Glad you had a lovely Christmas. We did, too. Just the two of us. We cooked the traditional Greek roast lamb but had cheesecake to follow instead of baklava or melomacarona.

It’s been very foggy here and damp. Every evening the fog appears and doesn’t start dissipating until midday when we have a couple of hours of clear weather. It’s dark and everything is dripping wet so not my ideal weather. I’d like a bit of snow. Let’s see if we get any this year.

I’ve been on holiday since Saturday so I’ve knitted most of a pair of mittens, read some of my book, done some Cryptic crosswords and watched a few movies on Netflix. Today we’re meeting up with the relatives for morning coffee.

Take care, all of you, and enjoy the festive season xx

Roast lamb sounds wonderful! I am hoping that some kind of lamb is on sale this week to make at least a stew or Shepherd’s pie!

I feel your pain about the fog … we had a full week of it after a 2 day break and several days before. We often have the low cloud deck/inversion but this year it was as you described: drippy wet, cold to the bones! I was thrilled when it cleared for Christmas weekend. If forecast is correct we will have at least inversion and possibly a partly clear New Year’s weekend.

I have never been good at crosswords and never tried a cryptic crossword but I put that on my list of brain exercises! I just read that word puzzles are better at staving off dementia than socialization :) Since I am a lousy socializer that is good news to me!

Hope your weather improves and you have a good week!!
