Auggie and me
Auggie has been my companion and snuggle buddy…
And fellow enjoyer of a woodstove fire! The warmth of Auggie near goes a long way to making me feel better.
We got back on snowshoes and back in the woods the day after. Yes, a bit difficult, but I am so grateful that Auggie comes with me and it helps to focus on the good times that Bear, Auggie and I had together in the woods.
After, we relax/cool off (me) on the front porch.
One day at a time. When sorrow threatens to overwhelm, I look to the wonderful comments and emails from all of you who cared for Bear and who care for Auggie and me.
Thank you to all who sent us love.

Lovely Auggie! Like all animals he offers true companionship without judgement.
Yes.
Auggie reminds me so much of a big yellow tom-cat I had as a child.
I can almost hear him purring.
I’m sure you are taking great comfort in his presence in your life right now, as he takes comfort just being with you.
Blessings~

Yes … finding our way together :)
I have been thinking about you the past couple of days. How sweet of Auggie, to stay close in this time of grief for you both. I didn’t know that you all 3 went on walks together – I think you are the first person I know of that does that (with a cat) – and no leash(es)! It just shows how bonded you all are. I love the pictures of the 3 of you and your life together. You give your animals such a wonderful life. I am sad and yet feel comforted, because I know Dear Bear had the best possible life with you and Auggie and he was well cared for.
You are in my thoughts and I wish you comfort. Thank you for sharing Bear’s life with us.

Thank you, JP!
When Auggie was too young to go with us (before all vaccinations), he would be in the window watching for Bear and I to return. I was fairly sure he would be our walk partner. I am fortunate that where we walk is mostly my property and both it and the state property are nowhere near a road.
