Mr. Beam

Mr. Beam is the manufacturer of various kinds of lights…mostly motion sensor kind of lights.

I recently purchased a couple or several…for the driveway…for Hailley…or maybe for me.

They are powered by batteries.

After testing with the “stakes” they come with and thinking about snow… I decided to mount them midway up a few trees. I had some roofing material so made them them their own roofs :)!

We’ll see how they hold up.

But, so far, I am sold! They are inexpensive, easy to mount, they work!

Meanwhile…

Bob and Bear progress….

Some d’accord!!!… there is tail wagging out of the range of photo.

And sometimes some nose touching…

When we return…maybe….!

But meantime…Bob is not in favor of all of the commotion that is involved in leave-taking…

First Fall Alpenglo

Another beautiful Fall day and enough clouds in the right places for the first rosy alpenglo of Fall. I was out with Bear when it started and it can be fleeting so did not go back for my camera. Above is from the phone camera. A little soft but the color is true.

**Bear and Bob notes:
As the days get shorter and the nights longer, we are all adjusting. Sunset is 6:20 p.m. and Sunrise 8:20 a.m..

Although Bear settled down for bedtime during the summer when bedtime was often still in daylight, now that there is more dark, he sometimes stays with me in the office or kitchen, but more often than not, goes to bed when we come in at sunset. He will go out for a before bedtime outing if I show him his lighted collar but does not ask to go out and I sometimes have to wake him :)! In the morning, he will wag his tail and give me kisses…from his bed, but unless I coax he is happy to stay in until it gets light…so I let him! Bob has his quick outing for morning business, breakfast and then he goes back to bed as well. I get a couple of hours to have a bit of quiet time, cook or bake and work a bit before a morning break outside with Bear. Not a bad routine. We’ll see what happens when we get snow on the ground!

Monday morning gold

Gold on the morning walk.

Gold in my own woods.

The morning alternated between foggy, dark and cloudy with occasional bursts of sunlight that lit the trees and grass.

I looked up and saw this light as I was working this Monday morning. I had such a sense of peace with my morning, my day, my life…things accomplished this weekend and a clean slate feeling to the start of the week.

The day was blustery. It looked, felt and sounded like Fall.

Bob enjoyed the warmth of the front porch as he kept an eye on a squirrel chattering in a nearby tree.

Shades of Fall in Montana

It was a week of long work days to meet a Friday noon work deadline. I woke Friday not feeling 100% and decided then and there that this was not the weekend for Bear and my short road trip. As it turned out, the Bob/House sitter and friends we were going to visit were not 100% either so all worked out for the best and we’ll try for next weekend.

Meanwhile, the Fall light and weather remains perfect: cool, crisp, crystal clear air. The color continues with the larch joining the fun.

These are the kind of days I find it hard to stay inside.

So I didn’t!

I was outside with Bear or thinking up things to check on the motorhome.

And sometimes just walking through the woods looking at the sun on the larch.

Meanwhile…the rest of the party was enjoying the beautiful day from a comfy spot inside…

Relaxing

Bob has never had any issues with relaxing…

…even with the annoying interruption of photo taking!

Although Bear has only recently begun relaxing in the yard…in the house he’s got it down pat!!
