Hard times on the front porch

We’ve had a run of warm, even hot by MT standards, sunny days. Yesterday afternoon it all seemed a bit much.

But in the night a cool, rainy front started through and the forecast is for much of the same for the next week.

Hard times, on the front porch.

I love morning

I love the soft light of morning, the quiet, the dew in the grass when it sparkles like a field of diamonds as the sun rises, a fresh cup of hot, strong, coffee.

This morning, I sat in the sun, in the quiet, with my coffee and my dog and thanked God for all of the things in my life.

I love morning.

For a Sunday morning… from George Washington Carver:

Nothing is more beautiful than the loveliness of the woods before sunrise

Reading about nature is fine, but if a person walks in the woods and listens carefully, he can learn more than what is in books, for the woods speak with the voice of God.

Amen.

Words from George Washington Carver – one of the people I’d invite for dinner if I could – you know, that exercise of who, living or dead, would you like to invite for dinner…
