Photos: Friday morning
Bear and I went to town at close to sunrise this morning.
It was beautiful.
We walked at the wild fowl spot.
I took photos as the sun was rising and the fog was lifting…

This photo was yesterday’s sunrise. Managing heat overnight without my furnace has meant I’ve been up and down and yesterday (Sunday), it caught up with me. I ran out of steam late afternoon, retreated to Wild Thing, put on my jammies, made tea, made ginger syrup, had crackers for supper, walked Bear and went to bed. It was dark, but sunset is early.
It was warmer last night so I skipped the middle of the night heat up and feel more rested this morning. I have an appointment to get the furnace looked at on Wednesday – hopefully something easy.
Bear and I have been walking at a wonderful venue: Coller Wildlife Area. There are three entrances several miles from home base with miles of not bad road to walk or Jeep or 4 wheel, but we park the Jeep and walk along the Rio Grande.
Today, Friday, was as varied as the photos that follow:
It started clear and sunny.
It got dark and gray.
Windy, blizzardy snow squall.
Sunny.
Squall.
And repeat.
Friday Mash.
Gray Flicker. A “pretty” woodpecker but renowned for pecking on houses and various things NOT home to the insects “normal” woodpeckers peck for, i.e. a NUISANCE…but pretty…
After one of the squalls…snow, sleet, graupel and…
Friday Mash.
A dark and stormy moment.
After the squall.
But before the sun.
Auggie in the snow.
A clear evening with beautiful alpenglow.
Friday Mash.
It was 9F with gorgeous alpenglow visible through the trees.
We all went out and about.
Winter in Montana can be gray.
But today…today was clear, sunny, absolutely beautiful.
And we enjoyed.
Beardog in the sun.
Beardog on Beardog Point.
Enjoying the sun.
